Wooden toys made with love
We started making wooden toys in 2017, thinking of the creative and very engaging toys of our childhood. Five years later, we're still about creating beautiful, safe, high-quality toys that stimulate the imagination as well as physical and emotional skills.
Our toys are inspired by the natural environment and influenced by the Steiner or Montessori pedagogies. Our mission is to help children grow into healthy adults through play.
Vulp's is a family-run business based in historic rural Moldavia, a region well known in Romania for its tradition in carpentry. We do all the design work, cutting, sanding, surface finish, assembly, quality control, packing, and shipping worldwide.
Our business grew steadily, and today the toys are handcrafted by our master carpenters, a delicate process that involves many operations with the help of woodworking machines. At no part in the production process do we use computer-controlled machinery. Skilled artists then paint every piece by hand.
We only varnish our wood with color and oil. We use a non-toxic water-based color stain or non-toxic plant-based oils and, in some cases, wood glue for assembly. The paints, the oils, and the adhesive are certified according to EN 71 and CPSIA/ASTM 963 standards.
The wood we use comes from sustainable forestry holdings. Our toys are made of basswood, ash, spruce, beech, birch, and poplar (or a combination of these).
